Our Sweet Journey: The Story of Mielo Honey

From IIT Classrooms to Buzzing Fields—This Is Our Hive Story.

In 2016, Deepak Baghel—an IIT Bombay graduate—stood at a crossroads. Like many engineers, he had a world of opportunities ahead. But his heart was drawn to the fields of India, where farmers struggled daily, battling falling yields and unseen challenges.

One question haunted him:
“Why are crops failing even when farmers are working harder than ever?”

His search led to a surprising answer: pollination. The silent heroes of our food chain—the bees—were disappearing, and with them, the dreams of countless farmers were wilting.

What began as a mission to help farmers soon became a life’s calling. Deepak immersed himself in beekeeping, learning hands-on, often getting stung but never giving up. Locals started calling him something new—the IIT Honey Man.

Not long after, Neha Rai, a powerhouse of management and vision, joined him in this buzzing mission. Together, they turned passion into purpose—and Mielo Honey was born.

What started as two people and a few hives has grown into a trusted name, known for 100% raw, unprocessed honey straight from Indian farms. Every jar is a promise: pure, ethical, and filled with the love of bees and farmers alike.

? Why "Mielo"?

We chose the name Mielo—from the Italian word for honey—because it reflects everything we stand for:
